JOB SUMMARY: Under limited supervision, a Speech Language Pathologist will be responsible for the screening, evaluation, development, and implementation of the speech language-related provisions of the educational program for students identified as eligible for these services. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS 1. Administer and/ or evaluate hearing or speech and language test results, barium swallow results, or medical or background information to diagnose and plan treatment. 2. Provide augmentative and alternative communication (ACC) systems for individuals with severe expressive and/or language comprehension disorders, such as autism spectrum disorder or progressive neurological disorders. 3. Provide direct and consultative therapeutic services related to expressive, receptive, and pragmatic language. 4. Compile results into comprehensive written reports which reflect strengths and barriers to student participation in the educational environment. 5. Develop and/or implement speech language-based intervention plans for student needs and evaluation results such as stuttering, delayed language, swallowing disorders, or inappropriate pitch or harsh voice problems. 6. Participate in multidisciplinary meetings to review evaluation results, integrate findings with other disciplines offers recommendations and develop individual education plans (IEP) and intervention plans to achieve student goals. 7. Provide targeted, evidence based therapeutic intervention to facilitate student participation and performance within the school environment.
