Description: Elementary Special Education Teacher - Part-time and Title One - Part-TimeUnity Elementary is seeking an energetic educator for the 2025-2026 school year. The ideal candidate is someone with a strong understanding of teaching strong early literacy and numeracy background and skills. The candidate can work collaboratively on a team to promote and target student academic and social emotional achievement and growth. Strong professional skills and a team player attitude is a must. Unity Elementary School is home to about 100 students in grades PK-8 in Unity NH.
This position is currently scheduled as 50% Special Edcuation and 50% Title One TeacherJob Summary: This position exists to case manage, provide specialized direct instruction, and coordinate the implementation of classroom accommodations and modifications for students identified for Special Education services at Unity Elementary School in Grades 1 through 4. It also exists to promote and develop successful reading instruction for students and performs related duties in accordance with District policies and terms of the teacher contract. The teacher also maintains a cooperative attitude with staff, parents, and students. The Title 1 teacher is responsible for group and individual instruction of reading for students who meet state and federal guidelines. Essential Job Functions - Special Education Teacher- Provide specialized direct instruction to students identified for Special Education services.
- Conduct educational assessments of students involved in the special education process.
- Develop appropriate, measurable educational and transitional goals and objectives for students' educational plans.
- Maintain the Special Education file for students assigned to the teacher's caseload
- Complete all necessary paperwork required to meet state compliance requirements.
- Conduct all necessary Special Education meetings with school staff, parents and/or students.
- Elicit parent participation in program development, implementation and evaluation.
- Maintain required paperwork including but not limited to IEP related paperwork, student data, and classroom correspondence.
- Participate in regularly scheduled staff meetings to discuss and resolve staff and program issues and concerns.
- Participate in projects and committees as requested by administration.
- Work collaboratively with other UES colleagues, member district administrators and representatives of outside agencies.
- Submit reports and other required information to the SAU Office by the dates assigned.
Essential Job Functions - Title I Teacher- Screens students to establish proper math/literacy placement
- Assists with the identification process for students who need additional math/literacy instruction
- Provides individual and small group instruction for identified students (Response to Intervention)
- Participates in student intervention team meetings
- Confers with the principal about the needs of the math/literacy instructional program
- Acts as a resource to regular classroom teachers in the areas of best practices
- Supports teachers in the implementation of standards
- Assists with the development of mathematics/literacy instructional programs
- Participates in professional learning workshops and conferences
- Completes reports and paperwork as required
- Assists with the parent involvement program for the Title I program
Qualifications:- Bachelor's degree or higher
- Minimum certification required for this position: General Special Education or Statement of Eligibility for certification.
- NH Teacher Certification K-8
- At least five years of successful classroom experience at the elementary level
- Outstanding leadership and teamwork skills
- Expertise in the area of best practices for mathematics and literacy
- Outstanding organizational skills
- Excellent oral and written communication skills?
