Job Description JOB TITLE: Evaluation Team Leader (ETL)
REPORTS TO: Building Principal and Director of Special Education
LOCATION: Multiple Levels (ECC/Elementary)
GENERAL DESCRIPTION: The Evaluation Team Leader (ETL) is responsible for facilitating the process before, during and after IEP meetings.
QUALIFICATIONS: - Massachusetts certification as a special education teacher and/or specialist
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Ensure compliance with all special education timelines and regulations, including, but not limited to the need to:
- Write IEP summaries presented to parents at the end of the meeting and N.1 notes
- Oversee IEP completion (ETL and principal signature) and send it to parents within 10 days
- Send all original documents to the Special Education office
- Reconvene within 5 days of a parent/staff request and within 10 days of receiving an independent evaluation
- Chair all annual review meetings and SPL only students, when appropriate
- Notify service providers when a signed IEP is received.
- Summarize specialist's reports
- Commit the district's resources
- Inform building principal of all special education issues and concerns
- Provide support related to the IEP to special ed. and regular education staff
- Participate in scheduled, bi-weekly meetings with building based special education staff
- Serve as building-based special education liaison to parents outside service providers, advocates, etc.
- Assist staff in development of schedules
- Assist principal in assignment of paraprofessionals
- Collect referral and caseload data and provide monthly updates to the Executive Director of Special Education
- Assist in the transition of students from one level to the next through collaboration with ETLs in other buildings.
- Meet with the Executive Director of Special Education, as scheduled
- Ensure accuracy of PowerSchool Special Programs data, including enrollment data on Powerschool for SIMS reporting
- Serve as the contact person for any student on an IEP who receives services from other than a special education teacher or SLP
- Assist with planning and facilitation of special education professional development
- Perform other duties that may be assigned by the principal or Executive Director of Special Education \
WORK YEAR: 184 days
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT/SALARYAs negotiated by the North Andover School Committee and the North Andover Teacher Association.
