Job Description
The Systems Infrastructure Administrator is responsible for the maintenance, configuration, and reliable operation of the District's enterprise-wide systems, data center operations, computer systems and servers. Responsibilities include installing hardware, software, and participating in research and development to continuously improve and keep abreast with the IT business needs of the organization; software includes Microsoft Active Directory, Windows Server, SharePoint, Exchange and System Center; and data centers including backups, servers, storage, racks and power. This position provides second level technical support and service to District employees, Technicians, and Help Desk staff. This position is also be tasked with actively resolving problems and issues with computer and server systems to limit work disruptions within the District.
Essential Functions / Key Responsibilities
1. Assists with the system administration of Microsoft Solutions: Active Directory, Windows Server, Exchange, Office 365, SharePoint, SCCM, IIS, Windows Clients, etc.; collaborates with the management, maintenance, and supports the operation of VMware vSphere and Storage Area Network (SAN); aids in the creation, installation, and maintenance of computer software images; supports with basic testing and packaging district supported software; installing and uninstalling district-supported software.
2. May support managing and maintaining virtualization infrastructure, storage, and email solutions; learns to administer Active Directory, Group Policy, and Systems Management Server.
3. Assists with monitoring systems for optimal performance and efficiency; schedules and follows through with updates and basic testing.

4. Utilizes foundational knowledge to assist with the diagnosing, troubleshooting and solving basic hardware and software problems on Intel and Macintosh based systems via phone, one-on-one, or on-site support.
5. Aids in the development, maintenance, and learns scripting for continual improvement of automation processes, framework, and workflows; develops foundational knowledge for installation of PowerShell scripting, packaging, deployment, installation, configuration, and maintenance of Data Center hardware.
6. Serves as escalation resource to IT staff in resolving basic issues by maintaining 24-hour per day, 7-day per week availability via mobile telephone or email for response to emergency or related operational issues; supports Help Desk personnel with work order-tracking software.
7. Provides feedback to the evaluation of software and hardware for suitability and applicability within the District's instructional goals; assists in researching and assessing information dealing with new computer technology as it pertains to district; ensures compliance with local, state and federal policies and procedures for software additions or revisions.
8. Assists with the compilation, maintenance and retention of all physical and computerized reports, records and other required documents; receives technical assistance and training for application, and network software and hardware; assists in reviewing and conducting professional learning activities on Operations and Systems Integration topics.
9. Provide assist with design camera placements for projects, upgrades, and campus requests.
10. Provide support with contractors and project management offices work to be performed across the
districts.
11. Assist with inventory of security cameras, access panels, and life safety equipment.
12. Provide assist with backups, scheduling of security camera footage and provide articles to authorities as
needed.
13. Assist with security camera issues, including toggling access switch ports, check settings, port
configurations, and assessing cable issues.
14. Provide assist with the police department software and hardware including intrusion detection and access
control.
15. Provide assist with access control authentication and access schema through-out the district using Active
Directory users and groups.
16. Provide first line support for police dispatch centers and sub-stations.
17. Performs other related duties as assigned within the appropriate skill and experience capabilitiesexpected for this position.
Minimum Requirements
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university or 4 years equivalent experience.
• Up to 2 years' experience in a systems administrator position.
• Candidate must have satisfactory outcome of fingerprinting background check. Non-refundable fee
(approximately $50.00) paid by the employee.
Preferred Qualifications
• Master's degree from an accredited college or university.
• 2+ years' experience in a systems administrator position.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
• Knowledge Microsoft Active Directory, Windows Server, SharePoint, and Exchange administration.
• Knowledge of various server architectures and models.

irregular hours; Frequent walking, standing, stooping, bending, pulling and pushing; Occasional: Lifting and carrying 10-25 pounds frequently, 25-40 pounds occasionally, more than 45 pounds infrequently with assistance; Pushing/pulling 10-35 pounds sporadically; May be required under specific circumstances to provide physical restraint of students in danger of causing harm to themselves or others; Frequent districtwide and occasional statewide travel.
