The School Accountant/Analyst is responsible for assisting in the administration of the School Department's operating and special revenue funds, providing variance analyses and account reconciliation for Special Revenue Funds and Student Activity Accounts, assisting with maintaining accurate and auditable chart of accounts, completing the End of Year Report, and leading the annual audit.
1.Responsible for analysis and assistance in the administration of the annual operating fund state and federal grants, revolving funds, and student activity accounts;
2.Prepare quarterly tracking sheets for each grant and work with grant coordinator to process initial grant applications/budgets, amendments, and final reports;
3.Prepare quarterly financial reports for all funds;
4.Provide support for Munis data, including chart of accounts and budget variance analysis, reconciliation, and reporting;
5.Perform audits on selected accounts to ensure accuracy, proper classification, and compliance;
6.Perform monthly and year-end account reconciliations of payroll and expense, and prepare and process necessary journal entries;
7.Work closely with town accounting and treasury functions;
8.Gather data and complete the End of Year Report, lead annual audit, and act as liaison to auditors;
9.Process Student Activity Account warrants and lead annual audits. Act as primary contact for and between bookkeepers and auditors;
10.Periodically review and update access and permissions in Munis;
11.Process all requisitions approved by departments and school leaders ensuring accurate accounts and balances before submitting for final approval;
12.Perform other related duties as required by the Director of Finance and Operations.
Terms of Employment:
•Twelve-month contract, 35 hours per week;
•Salary commensurate with experience;
•Reports to Director of Finance and Operations.

- Minimum Qualifications:
1.Bachelor's degree in Business with major in Accounting or Finance;
3.Three (3) years' experience in a school, municipal, or other municipal fund-accounting environment;
4.Demonstrable acumen with relational database applications, advanced knowledge of Excel, Munis preferred;
5.Ability to perform assigned tasks and resolve issues with minimal supervision;
6.Customer service oriented.
