Job Description
To assist in the attainment of District goals through effective and efficient installation and repair of electrical systems. Essential Functions / Key Responsibilities
1. Lead in installation, services and repairs of electrical lighting systems, power distribution systems and exhaust systems.
2. Lead services and repairs motor control centers to include breakers, fused and non-fused disconnects and motor starters.
3. Read and interpret plans, diagrams, and code requirements for proper and safe installation of electrical systems.
4. Lead inspection and services for emergency lighting systems.
5. Lead the set-up and removal of electrical systems for carnivals and other special events.
6. Keep informed of and comply with National, State and Local Electrical Codes.
7. Direct the work of others in completing large scale projects.
8. Maintain accurate and timely work order records
9. Performs other related duties as assigned within the appropriate skill and experience capabilitiesexpected for this position.
Minimum Requirements
• Four-year or vocational college education (from an accredited college or vocational school) or equivalent experience.
• 8+ years of related experience to include: • Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR) License • Valid driver's license with a good driving record.
• Strong electrician experience • Candidate may work flexible shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, based on
operational needs.
• Candidate must have satisfactory outcome of fingerprinting background check. Non-
refundable fee (approximately $50.00) paid by the employee. Preferred Requirements • Experience operating a bucket truck or lift
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities • Regular attendance and punctuality are essential functions of the job • Ability to demonstrate the following core values: integrity, high expectations, commitment, respect, dedication to teamwork and passion for a student-centered environment • Solid knowledge of blueprint readout, schematic, diagrams and circuit drawings • Proven written and verbal communication skills • Demonstrated basic computer literacy skills
Working Conditions Work Environment: • Computer, computer software programs and peripherals, teacher resource materials and equipment, copier, fax, and other equipment applicable to position.
• Frequent exposure to: temperature extremes (hot and cold), humidity extremes, noise. Occasional
exposure to: biological hazards (communicable diseases, bacteria, insects, mold, fungi, etc. Physical Demands/Requirements: • Maintain emotional control under stress; work with frequent interruptions/deadlines; frequent sitting, standing, walking, climbing, balancing, pulling and pushing; reaching, repetitive hand motions, hearing, speaking clearly, visual acuity and prolonged data input; occasional lift/carry light, moderate 15-44 pounds.
