Teacher: Student Instructional Support
This posting creates a pool of candidates for future positions that may become available.JOB SUMMARYCoordinates the implementation of small group instruction and approved intervention programs. Provides the leadership, expertise and policy support to ensure that students are properly placed in interventions and that they are implemented with fidelity, enabling students to reach their full academic potential.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES- Assists in the implementation of identified interventions.
- Delivers interventions and small group instruction as determined by the needs of identified students.
- Monitors collection of identified intervention data.
- Analyzes data to determine student progress and achievement.
- Monitor program fidelity and implementation.
- Collaborates in evaluating intervention effectiveness.
- Collaborates with content coordinator(s), resource teachers, program representatives and other appropriate stakeholders to assure that appropriate staff development is provided.
- Collaborates with coordinators(s), resource teachers and others to create school procedures and guidelines to provide schools with steps for student identification, data interpretation, assessment, analysis, and scheduling of students.
- Participates in the review, evaluation, and ordering of intervention materials of instruction.
- Assists with the implementation of the AACPS curriculum.
- Performs other related duties as assigned within the same classification or lower.

Education- Bachelor's Degree in related field of education from a regionally accredited college or university required.
Experience- Three (3) years successful teaching experience required.
- Experience with intervention program(s) especially in environments that include special education, ELL, and poverty required.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Other Characteristics- Strong knowledge of content in specific subject area.
- Knowledge of methods and practices for data collection and analysis.
- Understanding of the operations and practices of both special education and general education in Anne Arundel County Public Schools.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively work and communicate with diverse populations.
- Demonstrated proficiency with business technology applications (e.g. Video/Web Conferencing, Microsoft Office Suite -Word, Excel, Outlook, and/or PowerPoint preferred).
Licenses and CertificationsEmployee must retain active licenses, certifications, and enrollment as a condition of employment.
- Hold or be eligible for professional educator certificate/license issued by Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE) required.
