Physical Education Teacher
WRSD is seeking a physical education teacher to provide appropriate physical education activities to students aged 3-21.

Primary Duties
  • Conduct classes on a weekly basis with students aged 3-21.
  • Provide physical education instruction on an appropriate development level.
  • Monitor student participation, effort, and attendance and give grades on a quarterly basis.
  • Promote health-related fitness activities which will meet the daily and emergency demands of each student.
  • Develop the skills of movement and the knowledge of how and why one moves.
  • Assist students in the development of self-confidence and a positive self image.
  • Develop an appreciation of and a respect for good physical condition, a functional posture and a sense of personal well being.
  • Develop a cooperative attitude toward others and a sense of good sportsmanship.

Job Requirements

Masters' degree.
Massachusetts Department of Education certification in Physical Education.
Intermediate rating on the SLPI or comparable sign language proficiency exam within two years of hire.
