BUILDING SECRETARY
Clearcreek Elementary
SUMMARY: Serves directly as Secretary to the Principal, preparing general office correspondence, reports and documents, along with all other duties required in this position. Reports to the Principal.
DUTIES/PERFORMANCE EXPECTIONS - ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Prepares general office correspondence, reports and documents (e.g., letters, EMIS, sick leave, memos, transcripts, grade cards, honor roll, attendance, etc.).Receives and makes telephone calls, receives visitors, exchanges information and directs messages to appropriate personnel.Prepares and responds to correspondence; receives and routes incoming mail to appropriate personnel; oversees routing of inter-office mail; and prepares outgoing mail.Collects money, posts to proper journal and deposits money to proper account (e.g., workbooks, paper/pencil supplies, student activity accounts, lunch tickets, bookstore, etc.).Maintains office filing system and records including student information records.Operates equipment (e.g., computer, typewriter, copier, public address system, etc.).Orders, sorts, and delivers teacher supplies.Enrolls new students into school, withdraws students, and gathers all required related information for enrollment or withdrawal.Schedules appointments and meetings for the building principal.Responds to routine inquiries/complaints or timely refers to appropriate party.Composes basic communications between the school, patrons, and other agencies.Maintains confidentiality of matters involving individual students and staff.Assists with sick/injured children in absence of nurse (e.g., takes temperature, applies bandages or ice, disburses prescriptions, changes soiled clothing, calls parents, etc.).Demonstrates regular and predictable attendance.Demonstrates positive relationship with students, staff and parents.Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor and job description.
QUALIFICATIONS:
High school diploma or equivalent.Training or experience which evidences secretarial skills, including computer skills and typing.Must possess valid Ohio driver's license.Must pass criminal background check.
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Effective Date: 9/1/2026
Terms of Employment: One-Year Probationary Contract
Hours of Work: Eight (8) hours per day/213 day contract
Salary and Benefits: According to the negotiated agreement. $19.43 per hour
