Full-Time English Language Arts Teacher (Grades 4-9 Licensure)
New Riegel Local Schools
New Riegel Local Schools is seeking a passionate and dedicated educator to serve as a full-time English Language Arts Teacher for grades 4-9. The successful candidate will foster strong foundational and intermediate literacy skills while inspiring a love of reading, writing, and communication in middle-grade learners.
Position Responsibilities
* Teach English Language Arts to students in grades 4-9 aligned with Ohio Learning Standards
* Develop engaging, standards-based instruction in reading comprehension, writing, grammar, vocabulary, and communication skills
* Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners across upper elementary and middle school levels
* Implement effective classroom management strategies that support a positive and structured learning environment
* Use formative and summative assessments to guide instruction and monitor student growth
* Integrate instructional technology to enhance engagement and learning outcomes
* Support students in developing critical thinking, analytical reading, and writing proficiency
* Collaborate with grade-level teams, intervention specialists, and building staff to support student success
* Maintain accurate records of student performance and communicate progress with families
* Participate in professional development and district/building initiatives
* Support extracurricular or academic enrichment opportunities as needed
Qualifications
* Valid Ohio teaching license in Integrated Language Arts (4-9 or equivalent licensure)
* Strong knowledge of literacy instruction and adolescent learning development
* Effective classroom management and student engagement skills
* Ability to differentiate instruction for a wide range of learning needs
* Strong communication and collaboration skills
* Commitment to fostering a positive, student-centered learning environment
Preferred Qualifications
* Prior experience teaching upper elementary or middle school ELA
* Experience with standards-based grading or data-informed instruction
* Familiarity with digital learning tools and blended instruction strategies
* Experience supporting intervention, enrichment, or gifted learners
