Job Description

To Educate All Children seeks a passionate and instructionally-minded Director of Program to lead the organization’s programmatic work, provide key leadership to program staff, and support organizational excellence. Working closely with the Executive Director, this person will set vision and direction for TEACH’s program team, manage school partnerships and support the 

organization in their next phase of growth in the Houston community.

TEACH is a community impact organization currently operating in Houston Independent School District schools located in predominantly low-income neighborhoods. TEACH focuses on empowering educators by helping them build safe and calm classrooms through intensive training and coaching on classroom management, which focuses on areas such as de-escalation, conflict resolution, building students’ self-image, and nonverbal communication. Who We Are Looking For: 

We are seeking an experienced instructional leader who is a strategic thinker, a strong implementer, and an excellent manager and coach of people. This person is able to be on the dance floor and the balcony simultaneously, and continuously center student impact in their decision-making. 


The Director of Program will be responsible for ensuring all Program Managers are trained using the TEACH program and will support the execution of the program with campus partners. This person is excited to review and revise programmatic materials, including TEACH’s existing curriculum, and support both the design and execution of this curriculum project. They are an excellent networker, energized by the potential of identifying new champions for TEACH’s program and ready to help set and pursue a robust organizational vision. A care for people, students, and partners is evident in all they do.  


Key Responsibilities: 

Organizational Health & Strategic Direction 

  • Set vision and direction for TEACH’s Program team, in alignment with the organizational vision and strategic priorities 
    • Create the project plan and execute on said plan, including the reviewing, refinement, and rewriting of TEACH’s core curriculum 
    • Work collaboratively with the TEACH team, particularly the Executive Director and Program Managers, to ensure progress to goal measures are met 
  • Build and maintain excellent internal systems to ensure all work is designed, documented, and standardized whenever possible to accurately track evidence and impact
  • Engage in robust, data-driven reflection cycles and planning processes to ensure organizational alignment and assess progress to goal on an ongoing basis


Excellent Team Management and People-Centered Leadership 

  • Build and maintain a positive, productive, collaborative team culture 
  • Directly manage, coach, and build the skill and capacity of 6-8 team members, including Program Managers
  • Build and maintain sustainable practices for the program team, including but not limited to:
    • Support the development of a robust performance management system, including implementation, reflection, and refinement
    • Support and execute the identification, cultivation, hiring, and onboarding of all programmatic staff 
    • Develop and identify opportunities to retain TEACH’s team, including but not limited to robust professional development opportunities 
  • Remain in compliance with all HR functions


Partnership Development & Partnership Management  

  • Actively seek out new opportunities and partners for the TEACH Program:
    • Build and maintain relationships with public school partners that lead to recognition of the TEACH brand and increase the opportunities for program expansion
  • Strengthen and deepen relationships with existing school and community partners
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with key stakeholders in various sectors such as education, business, government, and philanthropy that raise the visibility of the TEACH brand 


Who You Are 

  • Previous education experience required
  • Bachelor’s degree required, master’s degree preferred
  • 6+ years of relevant experience, school or network-based experience preferred
  • Prior experience with external relations or partnership management or development preferred  
  • Stellar record of results setting and achieving robust organizational priorities
  • Excellent manager and developer of people 
  • You love networking and are energized by connecting with people 
  • You are a risk-taker, willing to take chances and think innovatively about organizational growth 
  • You are willing to engage in tough conversations; you are a direct and proactive communicator
  • Ability to attend events on nights and weekends

    • 100% of classrooms with TEACH coaching report significant improvements in classroom culture, student attendance, and overall quality of student-teacher relationships 
  • Experience
    • 100% of teachers participating in TEACH program report that the training and coaching they receive is highly effective and supportive 
    • Program Managers meet the majority of performance expectations and goals
    • Team Satisfaction: all Program Managers report growth in their role
  • Program Fidelity
    • Program Managers execute TEACH’s program, including individual, small and large group activities, with fidelity 
    • Lead successful rollout of TEACH’s updated program, including Program Manager training and investment, reflection cycles, and progress monitoring 


What we offer:

  • Competitive salary (range begins at $90,000), depending on experience and accomplishments
