TITLE:Title III English Language Development Tutor
TYPE OF POSITION: Part-time (approximately 18-20 hours/week); Temporary (anticipated through the end of the current school year); salary range $25-$30/hour, subject to the limits of the grant funding the position
LOCATION: District; Hopkinton, Massachusetts
AREA OF CONSIDERATION: All qualified candidates

The Title III English Language Development (ELD) Tutor works under the direction of the district Director of English Language Acquisition, Equity, & Access and building principal(s) to provide tutoring in English acquisition skills for students. The tutor supports each student's language development, with a focus on vocabulary use, reading, writing, and speaking. The ELD Tutor motivates students to apply their growing language skills in each school subject area and in their social interactions. The Title III Elementary ELD Tutor reports to the principal(s) and the Director of English Language Acquisition, Equity, & Access.

Duties include, but are not limited to:
1.Provides tutoring throughout the school day per the schedule designed by the principal(s) and Director of English Language Acquisition, Equity, & Access;
2.Continuously monitors students' understanding of the tutoring content and adjusts instruction, guided by the Director of English Language Acquisition, Equity, & Access;
3.Utilizes appropriate technology to assist students in the learning process
4.Creates reports of progress for each student;
5.Other duties, as assigned.

Job Requirements
    To be considered qualified for this position, candidates must have the following:
    1.Licensed, or eligible for licensure, in ESL, Elementary Education, Secondary Education, or Reading by the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education;
    2.Bachelor's Degree, Master's preferred, from an accredited college or university, in a related field;
    3.Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing, to children and adults;
    4.Commitment to remain current in content knowledge and teaching strategies;
    5.Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Superintendent may find appropriate and in conformity with state certification requirements.
