The Sr. Manager of FP&A is a full-time, exempt position, responsible for analyzing complex financial data across the organization to support budgeting, forecasting, reporting, long-term strategic planning, and key stakeholder decision making. The successful candidate will be proficient in Excel and Powerpoint, and be comfortable working with large financial data sets, have in-depth knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), SaaS financial reporting systems, and the ability to work in a Team environment as well as forming key collaborative cross, functional working relationships at all levels of the organization

Essential Functions

  • Be adept at complex financial modeling in excel and in translating business strategy into actionably financial models and data
  • Participate in the monthly close, in partnership with Accounting leadership
  • Advance the capabilities of Adaptive Planning & integrate into FP&A’s daily workflow
  • Be a key contributor for delivering a successful annual operating plan
  • Automate key current business processes & Excel models where appropriate
  • Report & forecast regional profitability & cash flow
  • Communicate financial processes and budget strategies to stakeholders at all levels, including school leaders, finance colleagues and senior leadership
  • Expand the breadth & depth of current strategic alliances
  • Continuously scale the FP&A function & cross functional internal business processes
  • Help mentor other FP&A team members

Qualifications

  • Minimum 7+ years finance experience
  • Bachelor’s degree required with emphasis in Accounting, Finance or equivalent. CPA or MBA preferred.
  • Commitment and passion for Rocketship’s mission, vision, and goals
  • Strong attention to detail with passion for detailed work.
  • Thrives in a fluid business environment and able to juggle multiple tasks and reprioritize with ease. Track record of making sound decisions when facing new and unfamiliar challenges.
  • Outstanding analytical skills and a proven ability to connect data analysis with business issues and decisions. Advanced Excel and modeling skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, ability to express quantitative results clearly, concisely and effectively; ability to summarize and effectively explain complex information.
  • Strong track record of process implementation and improvement.
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills with proven success at building cross-functional relationships.
  • In depth knowledge of Financial Statements & GAAP
  • Experience supporting leadership for monthly & quarterly reporting & ad hoc financial analysis; KPI’s, dashboards and reporting
  • Experience with monthly close, quarterly reporting, & annual operating planning
  • Working knowledge of Adaptive Insights or a similar SaaS financial reporting tool
  • Ability to work independently & as a leader in cross functional collaboration & projects
  • Proven track record of accurate expense, P&L, & cash flow forecasting
  • Experience working for a cause or an organization that is bigger than oneself, and being an Activist for the Organization
