The Site Director serves as the primary leader at one of 2 Rocketship DC campuses for the inaugural Summer School Academy. This role will support the Summer School Director in managing the day-to-day operations and in the execution of the Summer School curriculum and vision. The Site Director works to create and maintain a fun, joyous, and academically rigorous summer program for our Rocketeers. Summer School will run from Monday, June 24 until Friday, July 26 with working hours of 8:00 am-4:00 pm.

Essential Functions

  • Manage On-Campus Staff at assigned Rocketship Campus
  • Serve as the liaison between campus and Summer School Director
  • Serve as a liaison between parents and the program; responding to and problem solving any concerns
  • Oversee all academic components, enrichment activities, and student behavior over the course of the program
  • Execute and Support of On-Boarding and Professional Development of staff
  • Provide instructional coaching to academic staff on a daily basis
  • Ensure that all staff are prepared to execute high quality academic and enrichment lessons daily
  • Engage parents through prompt communication and on-campus events
  • Work with Summer School Director and Office Assistant to ensure accurate attendance and address any attendance concerns
  • Uphold all components of the vision of the Summer Program as outlined in the Summer School Academy Playbook


  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 2-4 Years of teaching experience
  • Experience working with and managing adults and/or track record of strong leadership skills and ability to work with a diverse group within a team
  • Growth and Positive Mindset,
  • Desire to find a way to get better, each day
  • Strong Work Ethic and Organizational Skills
  • Ability to multitask and follow through to provide high quality results on a consistent basis
  • Able to lead by example to ensure a positive working relationship and learning environment among staff, students, families, and other stakeholders

Physical Demands

Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus. The noise level in the work environment is moderate to high.
