About this Role 

We are seeking a Director of Talent and Human Resources to help recruit, develop, motivate, and retain our team at SchoolKit.  The ideal candidate will be strongly aligned with our mission, bring a collaborative and service-oriented attitude to their work, and have an exceptional ability to solve problems and make data-based recommendations and decisions. The Director reports to SchoolKit’s Chief Operating Officer and will partner with our leadership team to lead the development of strong internal systems and policies related to talent and human capital for our growing organization.

Responsibilities

Talent Strategy (30%)

  • Design organizational structures and develop talent management strategies, tools, and processes to grow our team and realize our core values and DEI guiding principles
  • Deeply understand our project needs in order to assess FTE and contractor capacity, optimally staff team members on our projects, and strategically grow our FTE and contractor pool
  • Analyze our current systems, processes, and policies; recommend and implement changes that improve the quality of our talent management functions 

Talent Management (55%)

  • Manage the recruitment, selection, onboarding and professional development for a diverse pool of FTEs and contractors
  • Build and maintain relationships with our contractor pool and manage contractor systems and information
  • Partner with project teams to staff FTEs and contractors on projects and manage workloads across projects
  • Ensure a thoughtful annual performance review process that enables managers to provide FTEs and contractors with meaningful, actionable feedback and guidance 
  • Help SchoolKit fully realize a positive team culture focused on diversity, equity, and inclusion

Human Resources and Benefits (15%)

  • Design, manage, implement and refine SchoolKit’s HR processes and policies ensuring that they are rooted in SchoolKit’s core values and industry best practices
  • Manage SchoolKit’s yearly benefits process including employee enrollment and vendor evaluation, selection, and management
  • Ensure SchoolKit is in compliance with federal, state, and local labor laws, including updating employee handbooks and making recommendations for policy changes
  • Provide empathetic human resources support to employees and managers to resolve employment and performance issues
