About the Role
The Program Coordinator provides key support to the school Leadership Team in executing programs for students, staff, and families. The Program Coordinator plays a key role in making the school an inviting, supportive, enriching, and vibrant school for the entire Perry Street community. The ideal candidate will be an energetic self-starter who enjoys working in a fast-pace environment and have successfully handled multiple projects at the same time. 
This position is a full-time, salaried, 10-month role and will report to the Director of Operations. 
The Program Coordinator is responsible for the following:

  • Plan and execute student events such as school assemblies, school culture celebrations, book fairs, and field trips
  • Partner with before and after-school programming to ensure seamless transitions between the school day programming.
  • Support Perry Street’s parent and family programming by organizing monthly family events and parent/teacher conferences
  • Collaborate with school leaders to design and coordinate faculty and staff team-building, celebrations, and appreciation weeks
  • Support the leadership team in preparing for and administering the test schedule
  • Oversee the substitute teacher schedule and ensure that all classrooms are appropriately staffed.
  • Manage the school’s social media and PR
  • Promote student recruitment by designing marketing materials and representing the school at community events
  • Draft office documents such as letters, reports, flyers, robocall messages, and presentations as needed.
  • Performs clerical tasks such as filing, typing, photocopying, collating and distributing materials
  • Assist with managing the inventory of supplies to support the academic program
  • Complete special projects at the request of the school’s leadership team


The Program Coordinator should have the following education and experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university required. 
  • Experience in a school or youth-focused organization preferred.

  • Flexibility, willingness to make change, and a positive attitude.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and relationship building skills and the ability to appropriately communicate with students, teachers, parents, members of the community
  • Strong time management skills and the desire for advanced planning and execution 
  • Ability to exercise good judgment and work productively and efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficiency with data management tools, organizational tools, computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Google Email)
  • Attention to detail and the desire for things to be done right 100% of the time.
  • The ability to work well within a team
  • The belief that all children can learn and succeed.
