JOB TITLE: Procurement Systems Specialist
For more than 15 years, KIPP Austin, KIPP Dallas-Fort Worth, KIPP Houston, and KIPP San Antonio have put thousands of KIPPsters on the path to and through college. The Opportunity
The primary purpose of this position is to assist with procurement of goods and services to meet the needs of KIPP Texas, Inc. dba KIPP Texas Public Schools. Under general supervision, the Procurement Systems Specialist is responsible for all aspects of the configuration and maintenance of our procurement systems used to procure materials, services, and supplies. The Procurement Systems Specialist will help to solve system-processing issues, stay current on software and hardware advancements and updates, and assisting end-users, as needed, to utilize the system compliantly.
This position will be primarily responsible for the administration of the statewide electronic procurement system (Jaggaer/SciQuest platform). 
Key Responsibilities
The Procurement Systems Specialist will:
1.    Assist with procurement of products and services

  • Assist end users with proactively identifying needs and obtaining resources
  • Prepare and maintain procurement documentation
  • Create and disseminate procurement reports

2.    Help to improve the effectiveness of the KIPP purchasing process via KIPPeMart, KIPP’s electronic procurement software system

  • Administer the KIPPeMart platform
  • Be a subject matter resource for statewide users
  • Be a system liaison for suppliers and internal departments
  • Provide feedback on procurement processes as it relates to systematic compliance with Board Policy, State and Federal procurement laws

3.    Manage contract documentation via the electronic procurement system
4.    Perform other job-related duties as assigned
Skills and Qualifications
Education and Knowledge:

  • Bachelor’s preferred, plus minimum of 2 years experience working in a relevant capacity
  • Strong working knowledge of the Jaggaer/SciQuest procurement platform
  • Purchasing certifications a plus; Certified Texas Purchaser's (CTP), Certified Texas Procurement Manager's (CTPM), Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM), etc.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office software suite


  • Strong working knowledge of the Jaggaer/SciQuest procurement platform
  • Articulate, professional demeanor with strong self-confidence and initiative
  • Proven written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills; Ability to work with a wide-range of people and personalities
  • Must be flexible and have the ability to work in a constantly changing environment
  • Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
  • Strong organizational and planning skills
  • Ability to work well under pressure with a proven record of meeting deadlines
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
  • Proficiency using computers, printers, copy machines, and fax machines

Compensation and Benefits
Salary is based on years of experience, degree of education, and level of expertise. A competitive benefits package is also offered.
