Who We're Seeking

The Grade Level Dean at Hansberry College Prep will be responsible for driving strong academic outcomes as measured by growth on the SAT, GPA, and IB exams (among other measures of academic achievement) as well as student experience outcomes associated with our promotion criteria: community service/enrichment, discipline, attendance, and fitness.


Roles and Responsibilities 

The Grade Level Dean is responsible for overseeing all activities relating to the student experience, promotion, curriculum and instruction at that grade level. They manage the performance of instructors at that grade level, own all outcomes at that grade level, and ensure strong communication and alignment between all key stakeholders. In addition to performance management, the Grade Level Deans own responsibilities specific to their grade level (and sometimes more holistic responsibilities). This may include, but is not limited to, campus event planning such as pre-college programming, homecoming, supporting our transfer student transition, planning and facilitating professional development for instructors and advisors, leading team meetings, facilitating retention conversations, and working with “off-track” students, parents/guardians, and teachers to improve trajectory toward promotion for students at that grade level. The Grade Level Dean will communicate and collaborate with school leadership to ensure alignment of the overall vision.”
