Job Description

City Year Cleveland is seeking an enthusiastic, thoughtful, and meticulous coordinator to join the Learning and Development (L&D) team and Impact team. Reporting to the Learning and Development Director, the LDC is responsible in helping to provide holistic support for over 70 AmeriCorps members serving in partnering schools. As a part of the Impact team, the LDC will support the successful training, implementation, and evaluation of the Whole School Whole Child (WSWC) service model to ensure the delivery of high-quality service in our partner schools. The LDC will have an integral role on the Learning and Development and Impact Teams by coordinating logistics and maintaining systems and database for AmeriCorps member learning and development and program evaluation.

Job Description

The Learning and Development Coordinator will work closely with the L&D Director, as well as with all members of the site’s Impact and Operations Teams.

AmeriCorps Member Learning and Development

  • Support a holistic 10-month learning and development program that includes orientation and ongoing trainings, coaching, and large-scale learning events.
  • Coordinate logistics for all learning events and training days to ensure programming, space, and material needs are met for both the site and external partners.
  • Communicate all L&D related information to AmeriCorps members and staff so the AmeriCorps members and staff are able to access information regarding upcoming opportunities and events.
  • Maintain training calendars, session content and materials, and attendance records and ensure all necessary information is readily available for staff and AmeriCorps members.
  • Research and collect supplemental learning materials to create and/or improve training content.
  • Support the evaluation of training programs by designing surveys, collecting feedback, and proposing program modifications - based on trends from AmeriCorps member feedback and school observations.
  • Facilitate meaningful learning experiences using adult learning principals and interactive training methods to ensure AmeriCorps member engagement with session content.

Program Evaluation & Progress Monitoring

  • Support the timely upload of data across service areas (attendance, behavior, and course performance) into City Year’s online database.
  • Monitor data reporting systems to communicate team and site-level progress to Impact team.
  • Support the accurate and timely reporting of data to City Year Headquarters, external funders and stakeholders, City Year Cleveland staff and AmeriCorps members, and school and district partners.
  • Support Impact team in the creation of engaging data visualizations, including site-wide and school-specific progress monitoring and outcome data.
  • Support the set-up and administration of multiple assessment platforms.

Site and Network Collaboration

  • Participate in observations and field support as needed to help understand the training and service needs of AmeriCorps members.
  • Act as an active member of the City Year national network by participating in conference calls, responding to e-mails, and completing other tasks as necessary. The LDC may also be asked to lead on select network initiatives, including all Cleveland Impact department prototypes.
