Job Description

Position Summary:

The role will support the Director of Accounting Systems and will implement, maintain and update financial systems. Modifies system menus, edits spreadsheets and reports, and troubleshoots system problems. Imports files to and exports files from financial databases. Trains staff on the use of financial systems and acts as a liaison to the information technology department.



Bachelor's Degree in Information Science, Finance, Accounting or related field Experience
4-7+ years related experience
Information Technology background (a Plus)
Texas Public School financial department experience (a Plus)
Experience using Skyward Accounting Software (Preferred)
Experiece with SQL, Crystal Reports, or Visual Basics
Proficient in MS Office applications and Google Drive

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

Exceptional communication skills
Advanced Excel skills including pivot, vlookups, and formulas
Demonstrate professionalism across the organization with business partners
Strong analytical skills to understand as-is business processes to effectively identify and document the to-be requirements
Excellent problem solving ability to identify root cause of an issue to help determine the optimal solution
Ability to work with limited supervision, having significant latitude for independent judgement
Ability to adapt to rapidly changing technology and apply it to district needs

Responsibilities and Duties:

Quickly understands the business issues and data challenges of the organization and industry
Provides ongoing analysis, maintenance, and technical and functional support for Skyward throughout the organization Provides technical guidance to identify system deficiencies and analyze system problems and solutions
Extensive database management
Instrumental in design and implementation issues
Provides primary reference to associates on system capabilities and issues
Provide system demos to end users
Provide training and guidance to new department team members to facilitate knowledge sharing and cross training
Leverage thorough understanding of district and system processes to make recommendations and propose technical/non-technical solutions to meet requirements
Generate scheduled and ad hoc reporting as operational requirements dictate
Collaborate with stakeholders to analyze and understand the problem/need
Collaborate with stakeholders to define project objectives and scope
Facilitate requirements gathering sessions with stakeholders and key technical resources
Document, categorize and prioritize district, user and system requirements
Proactively identify and suggest improvement areas for operational support
Support internal/external audit requests
Analysis performed is thorough and results are verified for quality and accuracy
Analysis are well documented
Analytical tasks are completed within allocated timeframes
All Other related duties as assigned
