Full-time Administrative Strategy and Planning

Job Description

Reporting to the General Counsel in Boston, Massachusetts, the paralegal will be an integral member of the in-house legal team and will assist on a wide range of legal matters, including contracts, intellectual property, labor and employment, leasing, and insurance. Qualified applicants must be team oriented and be able to contribute to solutions by taking the initiative to develop recommendations and suggestions on ways to improve work processes and/or projects.

Job Description

Project Support – Organize logistics for projects the legal team oversees and takes part in, including coordinating meetings, tracking project deadlines, recording and archiving meeting notes. The paralegal will be primarily responsible for managing intake and requests from internal clients.

Contract Administration – Assume responsibilities related to the school district contracting process, including maintaining files for each contract and related modifications, preparing and distributing information to appropriate staff regarding contract status, and performing closing activities as needed.

Document Management – Manage, organize, and track legal documentation and correspondence on a variety of SharePoint document management systems. Familiarity with the location of stored documents and the ability to quickly produce requested documentation is essential.

Insurance Administration – Support initiating and completing the annual renewal process for the organization’s insurance program; managing requests for certificates of insurance.

Administrative Duties – Support the department by performing duties such as scanning documents, proofreading, preparing mailings, and coordinating travel, meetings and video-conferences.

Qualifications Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree and/or paralegal certificate
  • Proficiency in various applications including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint and Adobe Pro
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Keen attention to detail
  • Experience conducting legal research and drafting memoranda
  • Experience proofreading legal documentation
  • Comfort interacting with members of senior management
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks, produce a high quality of work, and effectively communicate the status of projects in a timely manner
  • 3-5 years’ paralegal experience at a law firm or corporate legal department preferred
