Ednovate launched its first school, USC Hybrid High, a personalized learning high school, in 2012. Position Description

We are seeking a Facilities Support Associate whose primary role will be to coordinate and provide facilities readiness and maintenance support for five Ednovate schools.  The position will have primary responsibility over network facilities asset management and maintenance. The ideal candidate for this position is an excellent communicator who enjoys working with school based leaders, staff and students and is comfortable coordinating with external partners/vendors to meet the facilities needs of each school site.  The candidate needs to possess strong organization and self-management skills. He/she also needs to hold a valid driver's license and have dependable transportation, as travel between school locations will be required.

This position will be a critical part of the Ednovate Support Team, working closely with school leaders and school operations staff.  This position will report to the Sr. Director of Real Estate & Facilities and will be based out of the Ednovate Support Team office at 3939 S. Vermont Ave Los Angeles, though significant time spent in schools will be expected.

The Facilities Support Associate's duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Basic Building Compliance and Account Management
    • Maintain a database of all facility accounts, warranties and important documents for each campus; provide documentation as necessary for any authorizing entity or during annual school oversight visits.
    • Ensure compliance for any existing lease requirements regarding maintenance and vendor contracts and liaise with landlords to provide required information.
    • Define a preventative maintenance schedule and work closely with school operations managers to ensure execution.
    • Assist schools in setting up any new accounts, utilities, vendor contracts, etc.
    • Maintain a list of network preferred vendors for facilities.

  • Maintenance Support and Helpdesk Creation / Management
    • Assist in creation of a new facilities helpdesk / ticket tracking system to better support each campus in maintenance actions, identify maintenance trends throughout the network, build stronger relationships with vendors, and leverage economies of scale in school campus maintenance.
    • Manage all facilities helpdesk support and service operations across 5 schools.
    • Provide helpful and timely response and resolution to all helpdesk requests including coordinating service and repair with outside vendors as required.
    • Support school principals and operations managers with facilities setup/maintenance and provide resources in areas such as: building janitorial service and building maintenance, space modifications to support new curriculum / subjects, and security equipment

  • Summer facilities readiness
    • During the summer break, help initiate vendor contracts or support contract renewals as required for each campus.
    • Work with school staff to identify any maintenance requirements or facility improvement work to be done over the summer break and assist in managing that work as required.
    • Assist with providing facilities orientation and training to Ednovate staff.
    • Assist with school moves as required

Candidate Qualifications

  • Experience in asset management or facilities maintenance
  • A proactive self-starter with the ability to multitask, establish and rearrange priorities, and maintain focus in a fast-paced environment

  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Knowledge of public education and charter schools preferred, but not required
