The Development Associate will contribute to City Year New Hampshire’s growth and impact by helping the site to create an exceptional donor/prospect experience that deepens relationships and expands our base of support. The Development Associate will accomplish this by playing a pivotal project management role in the execution of inspiring fundraising and donor engagement events; supporting donor data management, gift processing, and donor recognition; and leading on donor and event collateral, social media, and communications projects in collaboration with the development team, site leadership, and headquarters specialists. This position reports to the Development Director and works closely with the Individual Giving & Community Engagement Officer, Development VISTAs, and Site Leadership—including the Executive Director.
Lead and Support Development Events. Project manager for site-wide engagement or fundraising events including but not limited to Opening Day, Annual Gala, Corporate Service Days, Graduation. As part of event team, keeping guest RSVPs, managing registration, donor recognition, and gift processing.
Lead on ensuring SalesForce data is accurate and up to date-promoting effective donor and event management, revenue reporting and gift processing. Manage all event related data including RSVPs, seating, and registration for our events. Maintain and enhance donor and ensure important relationship information is captured and reflected correctly in SalesForce. Request prospect research from specialized Headquarters team. Produce useful and accurate management reports. Help the site capture important donor correspondence through regular meetings with Site senior staff. Manage all development operations including invoicing, gift processing, mailings, and annual report submission.
Provide champions, donors, and prospects with an exceptional experience of City Year. Support the implementation of the Visitor Program by working with school based teams to ensure corps and staff are prepared for visitors and that visitors are minimally disruptive to service and impact. Set up and arrange logistics of prospect/donor visits to schools. Invoice donors, acknowledge gifts, and work collaboratively with Gift Processing to enhance donor experience. Provide support with planning, scheduling, preparing written materials for important standing meetings including those with the Site Leadership, Site Board, and Site Board Committees.
Supports site based communications and social media plan. Prepares and executes Development related mailings of invitations, thank you’s, reports, and speaker briefings for Development events. Partners with Development VISTA to produce e-news and print collateral related to service and annual event. Functions as site point/coordinator for HQ Event initiatives
BA/BS degree preferred.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Excellent organizational skills and an acute attention to detail and accuracy.
Willingness to work under pressure and in high-demand situations.
Ability to multi-task and prioritize requests from multiple members of the team.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
Excellent skills in Excel.
Versed in Salesforce database and report creation through the system.
Demonstrated ability to work with individuals with diverse backgrounds, interests, and skills.
Commitment to helping a highly successful organization implement systems and structures to support significant growth.
Deep understanding of City Year’s mission and the national service movement is helpful.
