Job Description

Reporting directly to the Learning & Development Director, the Impact Coach ensures City Year
AmeriCorps Members achieve school based results. This person would be responsible for partnering with the Learning & Development Director to coach a specific group of AmeriCorps Members throughout all aspects of their work with students across City Year’s program model, Whole School City Year is committed to a diverse workforce. Whole Child, and focus on attendance, behavior and course performance initiatives (math and English, grades 3-9). This includes having a portfolio of six Duval County Public Schools, coaching staff members, and providing training to 100 AmeriCorps Members. In addition, the Impact Coach is responsible for the creation and/or improvement of Whole School Whole Child implementation tools and trackers used for formative and summative reporting as well as developing and facilitating content for trainings. The Impact Coach is the subject matter expert responsible for supporting our school based teams and ensuring we achieve positive student results throughout the fiscal year.

Job Description

Responsibilities
During the year Impact Coach will ensure student level success by:
1. Supporting student level impact through coaching and supporting AmeriCorps Members and Impact Managers
a. Providing one-on-one and team-level academic intervention training and support to AmeriCorps Members (roughly 6 schools per Impact Coach). Providing focused support to help AmeriCorps Members deliver quality tutoring to their students to help improve grades, assessments, behavior and overall success in school.
b. Coaching Impact Managers to support AmeriCorps Members through observations and coaching sessions.
 Formal and informal observations completed on a monthly basis as well as follow-up observations as needed/recommended by Impact Manager or Impact Coach.
 Monthly/Bi-monthly check-ins with Impact Managers and Impact Directors to review progress made and additional areas to work on.
 Issue assessment report on challenges, achievements, best practices and lessons learned from observations, bi-monthly check-ins and trainings delivered.
2. Supporting overall service at City Year Jacksonville:
a. Attending and reporting on service quality in Impact progress performance/data meetings and reviews.
b. Supporting execution of service assessments:
 Ensuring AmeriCorps Members are equipped to deliver high quality tutoring each year.
 Ensuring AmeriCorps Members understand assessment scores and incorporate that information into their session planning.
c. Assisting Impact Department by conducting co-observations to demonstrate how to deliver feedback to AmeriCorps Members in order to achieve impact. Support achieving impact with additional service implementation concerns as needed.
d. Assisting Impact Department by helping to diagnose service implementation issues and recommend solutions by observing service and reviewing data.
e. Working with Managing Director of Impact, Impact Directors, Learning & Development Directors and the Learning & Development Village to help create and facilitate service-based learning and development sessions throughout the fiscal year.
f. Building site capacity by focusing on an area of service
 Developing learning and development content related to that area of service.
 Delivering learning and development content related to that area of service to the larger City Year Jacksonville Corps.
 Identifying gaps in resources that need to be created or tweaked in assigned area of service.
 Leading a small group of AmeriCorps Members through deepening their knowledge and understanding of assigned area of service.
