Job Description

General Description: The Accounting Manager is responsible for the accounting operations of the Association providing management expertise in the development, preparation, and implementation of financial systems and reporting structures for the organization. Responsibilities encompass and are not necessarily limited to the management of accounting operations, financial systems, system of internal controls, payroll system, budget preparation and overview, reporting of financial information to regulatory agencies and general oversight of financial information to support the Association's programs. This position reports to the Associate Executive Director/Controller. Duties and Responsibilities:Advises and coordinates with the Associate Executive Director/Controller on accounting matters of the Association.Manages the coordination, supervision, and delivery of department functions and services.Responsible for the preparation, oversight and coordination of the Association's annual budget.Responsible for the development and presentation of the financial records and reports of the Association including but not limited to annual audited financial statement, monthly financial statements, and budgetary reports.Coordinates the financial accounting for the Association's designated funds, subsidiaries and related party organizations.Manages the accounting operations, financial reporting systems and other related financial applications.Supervises and coordinates the development and report writing of financial and other specialized reports.Manages the effective and accountable use of financial resources to support the Association's services and programs.Manages the coordination, development, and implementation of training for staff, chapter financial representatives, and others as appropriate.Provides in depth analyses and recommendations in support of economic models and financial plans to enhance operations.Performs other duties, responsibilities and projects as assigned.
Qualifications:Bachelors Degree. MBA or advanced degree preferred.Certified Public Accountant.Relevant accounting experience with and knowledge of large not-for-profit organizations.Knowledge of financial accounting operations and systems.Knowledge of and ability to use appropriate computer software applications, and CTA's software programs and applications, for accounting and financial management.Experience in systems and workflow documentation.Demonstrated effective written and oral communication skills.Demonstrated effective personal communication skills.Demonstrated effective management skills.Ability to obtain and maintain a valid California driver's license.
