Our Major Camps are specialty camp programs designed to prepare and encourage campers to be tomorrow's leaders by immersing them in a FUN summer experience focused on innovation, creativity, communication, problem-solving and collaboration. Our residential summer pre-college programs with Franklin & Marshall () and Lehigh University empower intellectually curious young adults and rising leaders to pursue their academic interests through engaging curriculum. We also have a non-profit foundation which focuses on after-school mentoring and summer camps for underserved youth in 2 states (), and a non-profit foundation which provides a unique acting program to children and adults with physical disabilities (). Position Objective/Purpose: ESF Camps is seeking a talented and strategic Director of Marketing with extensive experience in digital marketing, demand generation, business to consumer marketing, analytics, selling "experiences," and familiarity with seasonal business, events, etc. The Director will ideally have at least eight (8) years of marketing experience (extensive experience in digital and content marketing) with five (5) years of direct experience leading and developing others. The Director of Marketing, in collaboration with the Admissions and Customer Engagement teams, is accountable for leading the marketing strategy development, tactical execution of marketing plans, communications and the growth of membership sales and repeat campers. Position Scope Factors: The Marketing Director leads our strategic direction by establishing and directing the marketing activities for the entire organization to promote ESF programs along with our branded partnerships in pro-team sports, academia, and technology. This key leadership role is critical to the future success and growth of this growing organization as it incorporates hands-on project management of digital initiatives, website content management, email campaigns, social media, and leveraging multimedia assets for dynamic communications. The Marketing Director is responsible for strategically promoting and driving sales for the following camp and enrichment programs offered across multiple locations in PA, CT, DE, MD, NJ and NY: o Day Camp: Lower Division - preschool, pre-k and K; Upper - 1st and 2nd grades o SportsLab, Powered by Under Armour: ages 6 - 14 o Senior Camp: Squad 1 - 3rd through 6th grades; Squad 2: 7th through 9th grades o Major and Technology Specialty Camps: ages 6 - 14 o ESF's Pro-Team Sports Camp Programs offered in partnership with the Philadelphia Phillies, Philadelphia 76ers, Arsenal, and Paris Saint-Germain Academy: ages 6 - 14 o Year-round Enrichment Programs at Episcopal, Haverford, and Riverdale locations o Summer Scholars Programs at Franklin & Marshall College and Lehigh University: 6th through 11th grades Job Responsibilities: Planning and Strategy: Direct ESF's end-to-end external and internal marketing and communications efforts by leading the development and execution of strategic marketing plans and tactical marketing plans Develop and launch digital marketing strategies and manage social media platforms to grow membership, awareness, and repeat attendance while collaborating with digital media partners Content and Campaigns: Create and lead new initiatives for ESF by identifying and implementing comprehensive marketing campaigns to promote camp and summer pre-college programs in multiple states Build strong and continuous attendance at key events and use multi-platform marketing efforts to ensure awareness, new and repeat attendance, and growth Directly participate in writing and proofing deliverables (website, brochures, reports, articles presentations, etc.) Advertising and Promotion: Manage advertising, promotion, collateral, and media for existing marketing efforts and new initiatives to grow the public's awareness and affinity for all ESF and pro-team sports programs both locally and nationally Develop and maintain close relationships with key sponsors and community leaders to ensure ESF initiatives are positively showcased and promoted Actively partner and collaborate with cross-functional teams and vendors to ensure a consistent message and focus across all consumer touchpoints Targets and Analysis: Drive strong marketing analytics to support marketing decisions by using consumer research techniques and financial analytics Assess performance metrics including project and campaign analytics, efficiency metrics, brand metrics, customer metrics, and overall return on investment for digital marketing and communications initiatives Evaluate all marketing tools and their effectiveness - direct mail, internet, social media, and print media Leadership and Development: Oversee a Marketing and Communications team that is dedicated to and responsible for superior public relations, brand marketing, consumer research, advertising, and membership growth Provide leadership for the marketing team to attract, develop, and retain top performers Supervise, develop and coach direct reports Conduct annual performance evaluations Manage departmental deadlines; utilize strong project management skills to set up processes for optimal workflow management and project prioritization Experience Requirements: Minimum eight (8) years of marketing experience preferably in digital and content marketing Minimum five (5) years of direct experience leading and developing others Demonstrated experience implementing digital and marketing initiatives that will scale to support the requirements of a growing organization with multiple programs Background in business to consumer marketing to parents and children preferably in a membership-driven environment Deep understanding of digital content management, data analytics, and evolving tools and platforms used to improve operations and customer experience Hands-on experience with the following: SEM; SEO; social media; increasing traffic to ESF websites; branding, etc. Well versed in Google Analytics and other tools for assessing web performance, campaign performance, etc. Ability to translate complex and varied inputs including market data, client and executive insights, and broad industry research into actionable programs Solid project management skills and proven effectiveness at strategic relationship-building across internal and external stakeholders Strong sales orientation; takes initiative to implement necessary tactics to successfully execute strategic programs in collaboration with the Admissions and Customer Engagement teams Excellent writing skills and ability to do copywriting and editing Strong interpersonal and customer service skills and ability to effectively partner with camp staff, children, parents, Heads of Schools, and Board of Directors Excellent verbal and written communication skills Familiar with niche marketing, entertainment marketing, long-term brand building, as well as classic consumer marketing Ability to prioritize, plan, and execute efforts with excellence Energetic, personable, and ready to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment Ability to prioritize tasks and multi-task while maintaining high quality Self-motivated and dedicated team player Ability to demonstrate a balance of strategic insight and tactical excellence Innovative and creative thinker with strong integrity Service mindset, both internally and with customers Technical Proficiencies: Experience using website content management software (i.e. WordPress) preferred Experience and proficiency in managing social media channels (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc.) Proficiency in email communication platforms (i.e. HubSpot) Experience using graphic design tools (i.e. Photoshop, Illustrator, and other Adobe Creative Suite products) Experience handling multiple content formats (text, images, video, and audio) Experience with Final Cut Pro and/or AfterEffects, Microsoft Moviemaker is a plus Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite Education Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Marketing or related business discipline.
