The Education & Training Coordinator is responsible for managing the overall direction and administration of CLASS education and training programs. Primary responsibility is to oversee and coordinate all educational and training opportunities, including designing, planning, organizing, and directing orientation and training programs for employees and customers, and offering specific training programs to help employees and clients maintain and/or improve job skills. The Education & Training Coordinator also provides team and individual classroom or on-site competency-based training to direct line service staff. This position can be housed at either our Independence, Pittsburg, or Columbus offices. QUALIFICATIONS: Education: Bachelor's degree in business administration, human resources, education, human services, or related field preferred. Relevant experience within the Intellectual/Developmental Disability field may be substituted in lieu of a degree. Experience: Two years' experience in a related position, with four years' experience working with persons with intellectual disabilities preferred. Knowledge: General knowledge of and experience working with persons with developmental disabilities. Knowledge of principles and methods for curriculum and training design, teaching and instruction for individuals and groups, and the measurement of training effects. Knowledge of media production, communication, and dissemination techniques and methods. Understanding of coordinating and arranging educational opportunities and work teams. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Access. Other Requirements: 1. Maintain a current and valid driver's license of the state of residence and be determined as an "insurable driver" by the automobile insurance carrier for CLASS unless other arrangements can be made in advance. 2. Comply with all federal, state and local laws regarding communicable and infectious diseases and CLASS policies rules and practices regarding medical examination or immunizations. 3. No records of convictions, administrative findings or history of abuse, neglect or exploitation of children or adults unable to protect their own interest, and conviction of other crimes, including, but not limited to crimes against persons, sex crimes, crimes against property, violation of personal rights, public safety, public morals, or any crimes that would be classified in Kansas as a felony or deemed unacceptable for employment with CLASS. 4. Works and honors commitments to participate as an effective member on team(s) i.e. specialty teams, PCP teams Leadership Team, etc., to which assigned. 5. Accomplishes the Performance Improvement Objectives agreed upon at the previous Performance Evaluation. 6. Completes required annual in-service training/certification.
