Role Mission: The Advancement Stewardship & Communications Manager will play a critical role in enabling the advancement team to reach or exceed teamwide donor pipeline diversification and retention goals through the creation and maintenance of centralized communications resources and impactful donor stewardship strategies. The person in this role will do this by leading and developing centralized donor outreach initiatives , utilizing organizational data and resources to write compelling grant application and report narratives, and championing advancement communications collateral with the marketing team to produce captivating and visually appealing cultivation and stewardship resources. [External Messaging & Communications Support] Develop a repository of persuasive and data driven centralized grant narrative templates, supporting documents, proposals and pitch decks and provide editing support for high impact communications and proposals Collaborate with advancement team fundraising leads to assess and understand the breadth of standard grant proposal and reporting requests Identify common narrative requests and develop a project plan for creating annual narrative templates Create a repository of persuasive and data driven written narrative templates for team fundraising leads to leverage as they write region or portfolio specific grant proposals and reports Collaborate with the advancement operations prospecting and data manager to identify compelling organizational data and synthesize the information into compelling written or visual supporting materials that tell the story of IDEA Provide editing support for grant proposals throughout the year Create a repository of clear, professional and data driven "pitch" decks for each region or portfolio segment [Donor Relations & Stewardship] Maintain 70% donor retention by developing a strategic and systematic approach to mass donor outreach and engagement, ensuring that 100% of donors receive at least one impactful touchpoint per quarter. Develop strategy, project plan and success metrics for annual and additional specific giving campaigns Develop an annual strategy for donor engagement , including but not limited to holiday appeals, supporter newsletters and year-end acknowledgements Consistently tr ack donor engagement to identify high impact outreach opportunities for specific portfolio segments Report out on monthly outreach attempts with corresponding engagement and convers ion rates Support the development of specialized stewardship strategies for high impact donors [Marketing Liaison & Project Manage ment ] Liaison with IDEA's Marketing and Communications team to champion for and strategize on the creation & distribution of effective and visually appealing general donor communications to ensure 95% of projects are completed on time. Write and create content to support specific, high impact prospect, donor and board meetings Support the development of portfolio and board newsletters Support content development, graphics and data visualization for specific communications to high impact supporters Ensure each functional region or portfolio has a relevant and up to date fact sheet for use in donor interactions by September 1 st Collaborate with advancement team leads to understand and develop the strategy for annual graphic and media requests Meet with marketing team lead on a weekly basis to keep track of project updates and edits , prioritize project change requests, and ensure project delivery timelines Send weekly updates to advancement team leads regarding their graphic and media projects , managing them to review and editing deadlines Collaborate with and manage advancement team stakeholders to develop theme, content and distribution timeline and method of annual report [Data Visualization] Collaborate with internal teams at IDEA to gather and understand organizational data, synthesizing it to create visual charts and representations that show the impact of IDEA's work in support of proposals and pitch meetings Collaborate with prospecting & data manager to understand the data available to our organization an d obtain the data points from internal teams Synthesi ze organizational data , using it to create visually appealing, easy to understand and impactful charts, graphs and other graphics to help tell the story of IDEA Support grant applications, proposals and funding pitches by producing images that communicate relationships among the represented organizational data to viewers/recipients Live values of IDEA Believes and is committed to our mission: that all students are capable of getting to and through college. Qualifications: Education: Bachelor's Degree Experience: 2+ years professional communications experience, preferably in education, or within a nonprofit 2+ years project management experience preferred Knowledge and Skills: Superior attention to detail and record management Strong written and verbal communication skills, including comfort in utilizing data and analyzing results to tell a story -- Writing sample will be requested Strong knowledge of basic Microsoft functions (particularly Microsoft Power Point) and A dobe A crobat Ability to organize and balance long-term projects while prioritizing daily tasks in a fast-paced environment Personal responsibility to create high-quality products Initiative to solve problems independently and seek help from colleagues, when appropriate Continuous learner Experience navigating relationships successfully Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings Ability to travel 10% of the time Compensation: Salaries for people entering this role typically fall between $48,650 and $60,812 , commensurate with relevant experience and qualifications. This role is also eligible for a performance bonus based on individual and organizational performance and goal attainment.
