DIRECTOR OF COMPENSATION STRATEGY
DIRECTOR OF COMPENSATION STRATEGY Salary $95,474 - $120,247 (DOE) Metro Nashville Public Schools (MNPS) is seeking highly skilled applicants for the position of Director of Compensation of Strategy. This position is responsible for design, analysis, execution and management of compensation programs to ensure competitiveness and equity, as well as, monitor the effectiveness of existing compensation policies, guidelines, procedures, tools and recommend program revisions and enhancements. This position will also serve as the senior leader to the eTime/Compensation and Kronos Administration team. The successful candidate will have knowledge of Federal, State and Local laws governing human resources and compensation practices; project management; and data-driven decision making. A professional presence with strong communication skills and business acumen. Demonstrated leadership and organizational aptitude; be self-motivated and innovative; have demonstrated problem solving skills; and the ability to create and document processes as needed. Key Responsibilities: Analyzes compensation policies, government regulations, and prevailing wage rates to develop and administer a competitive compensation administration plan. Assists leaders in overhauling their department's organizational structure. Recommends changes based on business best practices regarding alignment of business lines, spans of control, consolidation of jobs, realignment of work, etc. Manages the design and development of tools to assist and guide HR managers and hiring managers in making compensation decisions. Develops written and verbal information to inform employees of compensation policies. Conducts job evaluations, prepares detailed job descriptions and classification systems and define job levels and families, in partnership with other managers. Completes market analyses to recommend grade leveling. Aligns pay within MNPS ensuring internal equity. Recommends pay, hiring rates for "hot" jobs, and salary budget percentages. Prepares analysis for recommended pay changes. Plans, directs, supervises, and coordinates work activities of subordinates and staff relating to employment, compensation, payroll and time & attendance. Minimum qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or a related field is required Certified Compensation Professional preferred. Senior Professional Human Resources certification preferred. Minimum of seven to ten years directly applicable experience in increasingly responsible roles in compensation. Minimum of three years' experience leading the work of others. Skills Required: Knowledge of Federal, State and Local laws governing human resources and compensation practices; project management; and data-driven decision making. Professional presence with strong communication skills and business acumen. Proficiency in general business software applications. Expert with Microsoft Office Suite. Strong analytical aptitude.
