About Our Star Player:
The Development Associate will assist the Development Manager in executing the annual fundraising plan and achieving fundraising goals by assisting with the identification, cultivation, and maintenance of strong relationships in alignment with Education Opens Doors’ mission and strategic plan.

The Play by Play
Identify and qualify potential donors – individuals, corporations and foundations; cultivate relationships; solicit and maintain on-going communications.
Support and develop new fundraising initiatives in targeted communities, stewarding support from individuals, foundations, and corporations.
Create a thorough donor profile and relationship-building plan to cultivate prospects, acquire donors and close gifts.
Research grant opportunities, cultivate relationships with grantmakers and coordinate grant proposals for capital and exhibit projects.
Identify and evaluate fundraising campaigns and activities;
Create printed and digital solicitation materials for fundraising purposes
Stay on top of fundraising trends and the nonprofit community;
Develop and maintain external communications to donors and the
community-at-large via social media and email
Assist the Development Manager with identifying and writing grants;
Attending meetings, networking events, and work functions to further develop
Assist with preparing development/fundraising reports
Assist with donor stewardship and database management
Compile database queries and generates reports
Collaborate with and support the Development Manager and other team members in planning and executing annual events. This includes event logistics, volunteer recruitment and management, budgeting, financial tracking, and sponsor stewardship.
Organize and facilitate additional projects and ongoing organizational activities.
Maintain and improve donor databases and systems to: a) track contributions by project, by donor and by solicitation source; b) produce timely donor acknowledgements; and c) create reports as appropriate.
Make the Roster:
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field
Minimum of two years of Development experience required-At least three years relevant experience including nonprofit fundraising (required); and communications, marketing, public relations, non-profit management (preferred).
Demonstrates knowledge and experience in fundraising techniques, particularly major gift fundraising
Knowledge of the non-profit community and experience with non-profit development and fundraising
Significant technological proficiency, including in Microsoft Word, Excel and Google Drive Suite
Database Management experience is strongly preferred (Salesforce)
Experience in platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, and Eventbrite strongly
Superb written, verbal and interpersonal skills
Outstanding project management and time management skills
Values and demonstrates a proactive, positive, collaborative approach to work
Demonstrated ability to meet goals on time and handle multiple priorities and
Demonstrated ability to take initiative and work independently and prioritize
