ACCEL Schools is seeking an an experienced human resources professional to provide administration and consultation to its portfolio of charter schools. The HR Generalist works collaboratively with school leaders and functional teams such as Academics, Operations, and Finance to support the full employee lifecycle.. Responsibilities: Recruit school-based staff in instructional and non-instructional roles Process New Hire documentation, including offer letter generation and entry into HRIS Maintain personnel files Process biweekly payroll Develop policies and handbooks that are compliant with federal, state and local laws Develop processes and supporting documentation for onboarding, performance management, off-boarding and other functions Advise supervisors and staff on employee relations matters Respond to claims for unemployment, workers' compensation, disability, and leaves of absence Conduct FLSA, EEO, and other audits Ensure compliance with all necessary company/school policies and state/federal regulations Manage annual benefits renewal process including request for proposal (RFP) process and plan design For existing potential new schools, analyze HR cost structures, turnover rates, benefits programs, and other key areas Manage HRIS configuration including interfaces with benefits providers Other duties as assigned Qualifications: Bachelor's degree 3-5+ years' human resources experience, including 1+ year payroll and benefits Fluency with state and local laws in California Experience with more than one HRIS 2+ years' client management experience Experience with and high level of comfort facilitating interpersonal conflict resolution Experience with a licensed, distributed workforce Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office High quality written and verbal communication skills Ability to maintain composure and job performance under stressful conditions Attention to detail Ability to travel occasionally EQUAL EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY It is our policy to abide by all federal, state and local laws prohibiting employment discrimination based solely on a person's race, color, religious creed, sex, national origin, ancestry, citizenship status, pregnancy, childbirth, physical disability, mental and/or intellectual disability, age, military status, veteran status (including protected veterans), marital status, registered domestic partner or civil union status, familial status, gender (including sex stereotyping and gender identity or expression), medical condition, genetic information, sexual orientation, or any other protected status except where a reasonable, bonafide occupational qualification exists.
