The Major Gifts Officer (MGO) will lead the Red Jacket Society (RJS), City Year’s national, major gifts program and a key pillar of City Year Boston’s private fundraising strategy. The MGO will be responsible for building and managing relationships with high net worth donors and prospects, specifically focused on expanding the pool of major gift donors (defined as $10k+). Take lead on soliciting leadership gifts and multi-year investments and collaborate with corporate team to leverage individual support from corporate partners. Recruit, train, motivate, and manage a group of dedicated Red Jacket Society volunteers to help City Year strengthen donor relationships and raise the financial resources necessary to fund current and future programs Retain and increase alumni and parent RJS membership; and implement other new and innovative strategies to it increase RJS membership from these communities. Develop strategies to identify, cultivate, and solicit leadership-level support and multi-year commitments from new donors. City Year Boston is seeking an Individual Giving Director who will lead efforts to secure financial support from individuals and families in the Boston area as well as manage the Individual Giving team. At City Year, our AmeriCorps members (ACMs) focus on attendance, behavior and course performance to help their students succeed and reach high school graduation. Reporting directly to the Managing Director of Impact, the Behavior Coordinator will work to multiply the capacity of City Year Orlando’s ACMs by working collaboratively on efforts related to student behavior. The coordinator will provide site-wide support for ACMs as well as administer behavior-focused programming at 3 specific Orlando schools. Work in this role will include planning and implementing events related to behavior work such as behavior lunches, and delivering Learning and Development opportunities for ACMs. The coordinator will need to build relationships with ACMs, teachers, administration and others to be successful. Through both the targeted behavior programming as well as the site-wide support, the Coordinator stands to impact the lives of hundreds of children in the Orlando area. RESPONSIBILITIES: Site-wide Behavior Support Provide support to the entire site in regards to behavior support and leadership Support ACMs in implementing the behavior curriculum “50 Acts of Leadership and 50 Acts of Greatness” Support in the behavior-focused learning and development of ACMs through training around The Devereux Students Strengths Assessment (DESSA), CLOVER and other leadership, belonging and behavior coaching models Supporting ACMs in their work with students with a behavior focus Develop processes and norms to increase ACM empathy/support for students Targeted Behavior Programming at 3 Schools Support the delivery of an in-school suspension program at 3 target schools in the Orlando area Develop and provide monthly programming for the suspended students Act as an advocate for students by creating systems, processes and cultures that will generate a positive and supporting environment for students attending in-school suspension. Ensure all suspended students have access to materials/assignments needed to reduce academic backsliding and increase success in school Other Responsibilities Build relationships with teachers and administrators to work collaboratively in support of students with in-school suspension Act as a member of the greater Impact Team and support around site service days and all-staff events QUALIFICATIONS: In order to succeed in the Behavior Coordinator role, a candidate must demonstrate proficiency in the following areas: Relationship Development Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
