About Us KIPP SoCal Public Schools (KIPP SoCal) is a nonprofit organization that operates tuition-free, open-enrollment, public charter schools focused on preparing students in systemically under-resourced communities in Southern California for choice filled lives. In July 2019, KIPP LA Public Schools and KIPP San Diego Public Schools united to become KIPP SoCal Public Schools to better meet the needs of our students. We currently operate 19 schools, educate approximately 8,200 students and support an additional 4,300 alumni who are attending high school and college. The Opportunity The KIPP Through College (KTC) Operations Associate supports the overall operations of the KIPP Through College team including external communication, data and logistics. This role includes significant project management, event planning and data entry/oversight. This position reports to the Managing Director of KIPP Through College and will work out of KIPP SoCal’s Los Angeles School Success Team Office. Operations Plan and execute events to support students on their path to and through college. These may include: college tours, admissions presentations, school fairs, and networking events Coordinate all event logistics inclusive of administrative duties such as identifying venues, ordering food, and staying within the allotted budget Coordinate with relevant team members to secure student attendance and content development Create outreach materials for events Attend events, as needed Coordinate nomination process for special programs for students Work with KTC counselors to identify students for opportunities and ensure completion of applications on time Execute the KTC scholarship program including collecting applications and running the selection process Coordinate logistics for team meetings and outings Oversight of ordering and distribution of promotional items Data Serve as data liaison for the region Oversee transcript collection for high school alumni Supervise part-time data intern as part of the transcript collection strategy Work with KTC Managing Director and Associate Director to ensure database is updated regularly External Communication Update monthly KTC bulletin for distribution across the organization Edit and approve newsletters sent to alumni and families Create materials for external partnerships The Qualifications Bachelor's degree required Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work autonomously Ability to build strong interpersonal relationships and work effectively in a collaborative environment Strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills Keen attention to detailFlexibility to adjust priorities in a fast-paced environment Previous experience with college access or persistence is a plus The Perks Very competitive compensation package inclusive of a generous benefits package 100% of healthcare premium costs covered by employer, dependents added at 50% of the cost Employer-paid KIPP SoCal life insurance 401(k) plan with up to 6% match by KIPP SoCal Voluntary Benefits (Pet Insurance, Supplemental Life, Accident, Short Term Disability, etc.) Generous time off program includes 22 holidays, sick leave and vacation Other great benefits (Flexible spending account, EAP, tuition reimbursement for dependents, etc.) KIPP SoCal Public Schools is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, age, national origin, veteran status, disability, sexual orientation/gender identity, or any other characteristic protected by applicable law.
