The Author Learning Center (ALC) is a one-of-a-kind online author education community designed to help educate, motivate, and support authors at every stage of their writing and publishing journeys. The ALC offers content on writing, editing, publishing and marketing in the form of webinars, interviews, and articles, from a variety of industry experts, agents, best-selling authors, publicists, and editors. In addition, the ALC provides members with access to unique tools including the Book Launch Tool and Author Circles to help reach their goals. FUNCTION: As a part of the Author Learning Center team, this role supports the Manager of Author Education in strategizing, creating, maintaining, and facilitating all website learning content. The role functions primarily in the sphere of the Author Learning Center, but interfaces with numerous internal and external business partners as needed. This position allows the opportunity to work remotely, with a requirement to be in the north side Indianapolis office once a week. Primary Responsibilities: Weekly Webinar Events - 50% •Load all webinars into GoToWebinar portal and create event pages on ALC site. •Collaborate with webinar presenters on preparing final presentation materials. •Facilitate and lead live webinars and practice events - there are multiple events each week. •Analyze and track webinar survey evaluations and stats to expose any trends and make future webinar recommendations to the Manager of Author Education. •Manage the webinars email inbox and respond to questions and requests in a timely manner. •Create weekly webinar promotional emails using ActiveCampaign. •Create weekly webinar social media promotional graphics and schedule using MeetEdgar. New Learning Content - 25% •Post new video interviews, written interviews, articles, and program content to the ALC site as directed by the Manager of Author Education and per the established content release schedule. •Post webinar recordings to the ALC site following the live webinar events. •Add relevant resource links to the site "Resources" pages. •Create new Program pages as needed. •Research and suggest new learning content ideas, topics and potential contributors. •Assist Manager of Author Education in researching video interview candidates and preparing interview questions as needed. •Assist Manager of Author Education in researching and writing new articles as needed. Existing Learning Content - 15% •Continue ongoing effort to audit, edit, and update older, migrated learning content, including video descriptions, recorded webinar descriptions, and articles. •Remove outdated/missing learning content and past webinar event pages. Member Acquisition and Retention - 10% •Support and assist ALC team in various member acquisition and retention efforts as needed. •Provide member support through learning content comments and program Author Circles as needed. SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS: •High school diploma required. •Community College or University degree in Marketing, Communications or related field preferred. •Must have at least two years of related and relevant experience. •Superior knowledge of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Internet use. •Experience with GoToMeeting and GoToWebinar preferred. •Experience with ActiveCampaign and MeetEdgar helpful but not required. •Proofreading or copyediting skills a plus.
