JOB TITLE: PROJECT MANAGER, BUSINESS SYSTEMS LOCATION: LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA SUMMARY Mathnasium looking for an ambitious Project Manager to join the Business Systems team. This position develops the systems (standard operating procedures) for franchisees to manage their business, their employees, and achieve operational success. This a comprehensive role with opportunity to work across a variety of projects. Primary Objectives: Build and enhance business systems, programs, and operating instructions that franchisees use to manage their business, supervise their employees, optimize operations, develop talent, improve leadership abilities, build relationships with customers, set-up the location for success, and successfully run their learning centers Develop the resources (technical and non-technical), training, and management process for franchisees to manage single-center and multi-center operations. Measure performance, identify growth opportunities, and test new systems/programs for effective and profitable center operations Develop the resources needed to scale the operations model across all centers in the US and internationally, including establishing vendor partnerships, operations instructions, and business materials Assist in managing the Operations Manual, organizational change management initiatives, and project planning. Assist in localizing and scaling programs and systems for international use DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES Research, evaluate, and develop Mathnasium's center operating systems for business management, employee management, customer relationships, and business performance. Develop learning center talent systems that support franchisees in effectively recruiting, managing, and developing their personal. Develop learning center management systems that support franchisees in operating and evaluating their business performance. Develop customer relationship systems that enable franchisees to effectively build relationships with customers, parents, and students. Test new systems in the field and build local models of success into repeatable management processes Measure the effectiveness of all systems and establish proven standards to benchmark implementation success Create detailed ("step-by-step") instructional material and resources to develop expert center operators Promote systems to our franchisee community (and field operations team) for effective adoption and essential brand compliance Build a knowledge base and specialize as one of Mathnasium business management experts. Maintain the franchise financial model to ensure overall center profitability and success. Identify and manage vendor relationships for preferred value and service Provide franchisees with multi-center management systems to maximize center ownership and profitability Analyze best management practices from the field and Company-Owned centers that are critical to operating a network of centers. Develop recommendations and guidance for multi-center owners on when to consider changing their operations and procedures. Document the organizational model, resources, and management processes for efficient multi-center management Develop and improve scalable center operating systems for increased profitability Provide franchisees with technological solutions for managing their business, as well as, building effective customer relationships. When needed, collaborate with Information Technology (IT) to provide details on critical, required, and requested features as it relates to managing centers, business operations and customer relationships. Support, develop, and improve internal project and program ownership protocols. Additionally, support the franchise train-the-trainer model by educating field operations - training and support teams - in the systems they are implementing. Work collaboratively with the team, with other departments, franchisees, and vendors. Support managing system documentation and resources, including the Operations Manual REQUIRED SKILLS Bachelor's Degree in business, operations, or related field required Must have relevant experience with project management, building management systems/programs, talent development, business administration, operations, and/or business analysis. Strong skills in project planning and management Proficient with Excel and data analysis Technical writing; produce professional, concise, and appealing documents Ability to multi-task and be detail-oriented Ability to ascertain what works, what does not work, and why PREFERRED SKILLS Previous Mathnasium experience as a Center Director, Regional/District Director, and/or back-office operations management role. Master's Degree in Business Administration, Industrial/Organizational Psychology, Operations or related field is preferred Experience with project management, business management, and employee management software. Consulting experience working with enhancing employee operations, management best practices, talent development, and/or project management.
