Role Mission: T he After School Music Coach will facilitate a fter school programming for priority students, focusing on enrichment opportunities, and college/career readiness. They will work with campus principals and staff to ensure the after school music program enhances the vision and priorities of the school. Responsibilities: W ork effectively with students of differing ages, abilities, and backgrounds Establish and maintain effective working relations with program and school personnel Serve as an appropriate role model for student-athletes through his/her instruction and action Follow directions and function within program and school policies and procedures Give constant attention to a student grades and conduct Be present at all music, practices, and while traveli ng P rovide assistance , guidance, and safeguards for each participant at all times Complete paperwork on all disabling athletic injuries on proper forms and submits to Principal and school nurse within 24 hours Determines discipline, delineates procedures concerning due process when the enforcement of the discipline is necessary, and contacts parents when a student is dropped or becomes ineligible We look for Team and Family who embody the following values and characteristics: Believes and is committed to our mission and being an agent of change: that all students are capable of getting to and through college Has demonstrated effective outcomes and results, and wants to be held accountable for them Has a propensity for action, willing to make mistakes by doing in order to learn and improve quickly Works with urgency and purpose to drive student outcomes Thrives in an entrepreneurial, high-growth environment; is comfortable with ambiguity and change Seeks and responds well to feedback, which is shared often and freely across all levels of the organization Works through silos and forges strong cross-departmental relationships in order to achieve outcomes We believe in education as a profession and hold ourselves to high level of conduct, professionalism and behaviors as models for our colleagues and students. Qualifications: Education: No minimum requirement Experience: P revious coaching experience in assigned sport desirable Certifications: Certification in care and prevention of athletic injuries, basic first-aid, CPR and AED. Knowledge and Skills: Ability to organize and supervise a total sports program. Previous successful coaching experience in assigned sport. (Major sports) The head coach must have substantial knowledge of the technical aspects of the sport and, at the same time, must continue to examine new theories and procedures pertinent to the field. The head coach must serve as an appropriate role model for student athletes through his/her instructions and actions. IDEA/TCSAAL/UIL Rules and regulations in the athletic activity being coached. Techniques and methods of student supervision and behavior management.
