Emzingo|U is on the lookout for a new Academic Partnerships & Program Manager to be based in North America with significant travel. This exciting new role will support existing academic partnerships by broadening and deepening collaborations with these universities and drive growth for Emzingo|U through new partnerships with universities in the U.S. and Canada. Additionally, this role includes serving as a program manager to many of Emzingo|U's international programs. This role is designed for someone who loves to travel and doesn't mind being away for long periods of time. Throughout the year, you will travel to learn about and support programs in South Africa, Peru, Spain, New York, Brazil, and/or Amsterdam. We expect this person to travel significantly, anywhere from 1 to 6 weeks at a time, between February - July to support Impact Learning Treks and international Summer Fellowship programs. Duties and Responsibilities: Business Development - North America:Support Emzingo's leadership team to support existing partnerships with American and Canadian universities. These activities range from email and call follow-up, to reviewing or generating proposals, and researching potential new ways to collaborate with our existing university clientsResearch, contact, and build relationships with universities in North AmericaHelp develop, refine, and improve Emzingo|U materials to market and sell programsProgram Management and Support - Multiple locationsAssist Emzingo|U's Country and Program Managers in various international locations to prepare and lead undergraduate and graduate Fellowships and Impact Learning TreksActivities include:Coordination of logistics, cultural activities, and site visitsSupport related to social and environment impact projects that student participants will completeSupport students to help them maximize their experiences and navigate the challenges of work in social/environmental impactPotential to support and assist with project development and team buildingPotential to contribute to design and facilitation of leadership and social impact workshops When: Target start date of September 16th, 2019 Where: We are essentially a virtual team so there is a certain level of flexibility in location. Emzingo|U's preference is for this person to be based in the U.S., Montreal, or Toronto. They will travel often during our high program seasons between February - July with some travel August - January. Emzingo|U's estimates between 12-16 weeks of travel annually. Most of our team calls are virtual and cross many time zones. When traveling you will have long days, but between programs there is time to rest and recharge. We believe in very flexible work policies, a minimum of 5 weeks vacation, significant influence in your work hours, respect for work/life balance and family commitments. Physical Requirements:Ability to spend long days on your feet and move around for long periods of time. Some heavy lifting may be required to move chairs, tables, etc to facilitate the right physical environment for workshops and trainings.
