The Director of Operations works to create the operating conditions in which Rocky Mountain Prep scholars and staff can reach their full potential. Roles and Responsibilities: Build highly-effective and scalable operations systems: Build systems that help RMP Ops Teams allow school staff to maximize the resources - time, money, and focus - they devote to mission-critical tasks and priorities while keeping RMP safe and legally compliant and providing superior customer service to all. Develop the skills of school-based operations staff: Serve as a direct coach for Assistant Principals of Operations, proactively identifying development goals and providing direct coaching. Build professional development systems that also support the hiring and development of all school-based operations positions. Strengthen an inclusive operations community of practice: Run team meetings, professional development sessions, and other structures to build both skills and a strong operations community of practice that is aligned to our mission to create strong operating conditions at schools, is inclusive, equitable, and makes all teams stronger. Coordinate with principals and other key RMP functions: Act as a coordinator between operations and academic, data, talent, finance, and other functional teams to deliver excellent results and identify and make cross-functional improvements. Own personal learning agenda: Define your own learning agenda and build a set of resources to strengthen knowledge/skills for tackling challenges. Manage strong execution of: Assessment support: Shared ownership of RMP assessment systems with the RMP data team. Managing ops roles to ensure strong execution of district/state assessments and RMP assessments Evaluation systems: Build systems that clearly define and hold RMP accountable to excellence in operations Technology Strategy and Support: RMP technology and network infrastructure meets the needs of teachers, staff and the instructional program of RMP Compliance/Authorizer Relationships : Manage key relationships with district partners in both Denver and Aurora, and ensure proactive systems exist for core compliance tasks. Educational Background and Work Experience 2+ years of school operations experience 3-5 year commitment to staying at Rocky Mountain Prep Exceptionally detailed-oriented with a vision of excellence Impeccable writing and presentation skills Strong systems thinking and drive to remove rocks from the road for school teams throughout the network Ability to build strong relationships quickly with a wide variety of stakeholders and across lines of difference Outcomes for the First 60 Days in the Role Coaching : Design and establish a coaching system for APOs, including 1:1 coaching, rubrics for success, and a plan for targeted observations and feedback on key systems (attendance, lead-team admin meetings, facility walkthroughs, school ops-team meetings) Summer Basecamp planning and design: Lead processes to design a summer basecamp for ops teams, including breakout sessions for any individuals new to the role. 2019-20 Professional Development Calendar: Design a high-level plan for ops team professional development over the course of 19-20 school year (monthly PD sessions) Compensation aligned to Director/Assistant Principal salary band, including a comprehensive benefits package.
