School Social Workers acknowledge and focus on the social, emotional, and societal factors that affect a student's overall success. They empower students and promote behavioral and health improvement, academic achievement, increase school attendance and improve self-esteem. School Social Workers enhance the district's ability to meet academic goals by providing home, school, and community assistance. Essential Functions / Key Responsibilities 1. Facilitate individual, group and family counseling sessions, including response to school wide crises. 2. Provide evidence-based interventions to develop social emotional skills and increase academic success. 3. Provide case management, consultation, collaboration, community referrals and program development. 4. Assess psychological needs and provide psychoeducation for students referred for social emotional support and mental health services. 5.
