Job Purpose: We are currently seeking a Senior Manager of Primary Years Programme (PYP) to join our Professional Services (PS) team and provide strategic and operational leadership in setting the direction for the development and alignment of PS for IB PYP stakeholders to achieve IB's strategic plan. Someone who will play a key role in the management of cross divisional working relationship in the design, development, and evaluation of all PYP products and services. The Professional Services department is responsible for the development and evaluation of over 300 multidisciplinary learning experiences for educators and leaders at all stages of the school life cycle and develop content that is delivered to over 90,000 participants annually. The digital learning department alone accounts for the design and development of 800 online courses per year that are delivered to more than 14,000 teachers around the world. As the Senior Manager of PYP, you would report directly to the Director of Professional Services and help set the PYP direction for the PS department, working with over 200 internal/external stakeholders worldwide involved in the design, development, and evaluation of professional services for the PYP, including providing content for the upskilling of over 1,500 PYP workshop leaders, consultants and site visitors. Job Duties: Lead and manage the development, implementation and evaluation of strategic, annual PYP business plans and budgets for the department Develop and implement learning development strategies that align learning content (digital and face to face) with customer needs to meet the goals of the IB strategic plan Champion and mobilise resources across the organisation and within the wider education community to provide innovative, relevant PYP services to stakeholders Lead the development and delivery of an optimum portfolio of PYP learning products pursuing the most impactful opportunities to add value and improve service quality for schools Prepare and manage PYP budgets, forecast and manage income and expenditure to achieve financial goals to ensure best value and compliance with IB policy Liaise with Marketing and Communications in the development and deployment of campaigns around PYP Provide thought leadership for customer centered PYP digital and face to face learning and development products and services for the PS portfolio Lead improvements to digital learning environments with optimal instructional design methods and user experience Lead in the content design and evaluation of early and primary years learning and development ensuring alignment with Learning and Teaching publications and requirements for schools Lead in the transformation of Learning and Teaching digital content to learning and development products for PYP school based teachers, leaders and IB Educators Collaborate within the directorate to design and develop PYP face-to-face, online and blended professional development products and services Curate and repurpose PYP content to create efficiencies and provide multiple products to a variety of delivery channels Lead the development of PYP educator network training offerings to improve quality of workshop facilitation for face-to-face, online and blended learning Research and develop strategies for improving PYP online educator training, upskilling and other performance improvement interventions for the development of workshop leaders Job Requirements: Post graduate qualification(s) in education and/or a combination of experience, education and training that would provide the level of knowledge and ability required for the position Proven track record with the PYP Programme or equivalent non IB programme, with a strong interest in international education and familiarity with the issues involved Knowledge of online educational resources and e-learning environmental systems Experience in strategic and capacity planning, business analysis and planning procedures Experience in developing products and services for adults and a good understanding of andragogy Track record at management level working in educational administration, business or professional development systems Experience, knowledge and understanding of strategic planning and capacity planning Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills with diverse and remote teams Experience working in professional development within the education sector Change management experience The following are desirable: Good working knowledge of the IB and its programmes Understanding of teacher needs in an international context Appreciation of the relevance of social media and mobile technologies for online learning Experience and awareness of designing products for an international and multicultural audience About the IB: The IB is a leading global not-for-profit educational organization that offers curriculum and assessment to almost 5,000 schools worldwide to children aged 3-19, as well as comprehensive professional development to support schools and educators.
