About the Role The Chief Talent Officer is a senior leader position that is responsible for creating and implementing a best-in-nation talent strategy by recruiting and developing network-wide talent to drive dramatic results for staff, scholars, and families. Role and Responsibilities: Recruitment, Hiring, and Development Recruit and select external talent directly and through the management and coaching of talent team members and hiring managers. Set and lead towards a vision for exceptional talent practices at all levels of the organization. Ensure the retention of high-performing team members through the development of systems and practices around culture, coaching, management, and evaluation. Increase the numbers of teachers and leaders of diverse backgrounds across Rocky Mountain Prep through recruitment and retention, as well as ensure that RMP is an inclusive workplace that values and is sensitive to the diversity of our staff, students and families. Evaluate the effectiveness of its talent management systems on an ongoing basis and act on the results. Strengthen our on-boarding procedures to ensure a welcoming environment in which new hires can be independently successful in their role within 30 days of hire. Increase the organization’s brand and visibility through partnership development, strategic relationship management, and publication of industry-leading practices. Set the strategic course for the organization in partnership with the Chief Executive Officer and leadership team. Talent and Leadership Development: Develop internal programming and external partnerships to match team members with opportunities for growth and professional learning. Effectively carry out succession planning for leadership transitions at the school and Network level. Evaluate the effectiveness of our talent and leadership development systems and act on the results. Eliminate bias and develop consistent systems for pathways to leadership at all levels of the organization. Oversee initiatives and activities to build organizational culture. Human Resource Management: Plan, develop, and revise policies in accordance with all state and federal law for submission to the Board of Directors for adoption and maintain policy handbooks. Work in coordination with external HR partners to monitor personnel laws including, but not limited to equal employment opportunity, sexual harassment, the Age Discrimination in Employment Act, the Americans with Disabilities Act, Title IX of the Education Amendments, and Family Medical Leave Act. Evaluate and support the implementation of performance improvement plans and terms of separation. Eliminate bias and develop consistent systems for on-boarding, evaluation, and compensation. Mitigate human resource related risks through the role on the Leadership Team and support to school leadership. Personal Agility - Demonstrates a positive attitude, resilience and openness to change. Adapts one’s approach as the requirements of a situation change, is comfortable in ambiguous situations, and works effectively in a variety of settings with individuals and groups of diverse backgrounds and experiences. Educational Background and Work Experience: Minimum of 3 years in talent and recruitment highly preferred with a preference for those with talent strategy experience. Previous teaching or school administration experience preferred. Bachelor’s Degree required. Ability to provide an official transcript demonstrating graduation from an undergraduate institution and pass a background check. Eligibility to work in the United States.
