PRIMARY PURPOSE: Under the supervision of the Assistant Head for Development (and the Head of School), Under the leadership of the Assistant Head for Development and the Head of School, responsibilities include relationship management, grant identification, grant proposal writing, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship associated with foundations; corporate grant writing Research to identify new sources of foundation funding Manage the individual Educational Improvement Tax Credit (EITC PA) program through coordination and solicitation with other members of the development team Produce and manage annual fund direct mail campaigns Manage Raiser's Edge database Provide general support for the leadership and development team of The Academy Maintain the mission and vision of The Academy NATURE AND SCOPE: Donor Relations Assume responsibility for foundation cultivation, stewardship and retention Maintain relationships through internal and external meetings, letters, phone calls, emails and reports Provide ongoing stewardship to funders, updates on programs of interest; facilitate sponsorship/recognition opportunities when needed Support reporting requirements necessary to sustain successful partnerships with funding sources Share responsibility with members of development team to publicize success stories Grant Research Develop streamlined process to identify grant opportunities and quality foundation prospects; perform continual research online; schedule visits and calls for new grant opportunities to write proposals that match interests Manage and execute appropriate strategies for identifying and soliciting new prospects and obtaining funding, which includes bringing in new foundations by involving TNA board members, development team and senior staff members Grant Writing/Grant Management Develop streamlined process to identify grant opportunities; research foundations; seek approval to write grant proposals and follow up pertaining to all private grant activities with the goal of increasing the number of grant submissions Draft proposals, concept papers and reports to solicit and steward new and current foundations and corporate donors Write all foundation and corporate proposals; manage and oversee grant-funded programs to ensure proper compliance and documentation for all grant terms; prepare final reports (e.g., pledge, interim and final). Manage foundation calendar to meet all deadlines · Provide support to school leadership regarding high-level foundation relations, including strategy formation, preparation of supporting documents, and drafting correspondence Other Responsibilities Produce and manage annual fund appeals (2-4 per year), including copy writing, design, and segmentation Coordinate and execute activities in support of individual tax credit giving program including strategy formation, prospecting, information sessions (both one-on-one and group) and mailings Update and maintain all record keeping in Raiser's Edge and manage reporting Collate and analyze school-based outcomes data for proposals and marketing materials Coordinate, orchestrate and/or support all mailings, to include (but not limited to) EITC mailings, annual appeals, development letters KNOWLEDGES / SKILLS / ABILIITES: Demonstrated success in identifying, cultivating and managing fundraising relationships with foundation leaders Significant writing experience and proven track record of success in being awarded private grants Proven experience in using Raiser's Edge with report management Excellent verbal, written communication and organizational skills Analytic, logical problem solver Flexible and yet focused; not easily distracted Friendly, hospitable, highly motivated, self-directed, team player Patient, empathetic, kind Quality telephone skills EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE / SKILL REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree in public administration, marketing, communications, or other related fields Minimum three years of experience Experienced in Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Suite, and Raiser's Edge Federal & Pennsylvania Criminal Background & Child Abuse Clearances WORKING CONDITIONS General office environment. Lifting of up to 10 pounds. 20% travel using own vehicle. Driver's license needed for travel.
