Job Description Nature of Work Under the direction of the Superintendent, the Chief Academic Officer leads and supports the administration of curriculum development and instructional programs and services in the school system. The Chief Academic Officer will supervise elementary, middle, and high school curriculum and instructional staff; Federal programs/projects; Exceptional Children; Early Childhood Education; Student Services; Blended Learning; and Early Literacy. While many of the above areas have a director, coordinator, etc., all areas report to the Chief Academic Officer. The Chief Academic Officer provides administrative and strategic leadership support for the district's curriculum and instruction priorities, working closely with district executive staff.
