Job Description Executive Director of Exceptional Children Reports to: Chief of Student Support Services Term of Employment: 12 Months Purpose The Executive Director of Exceptional Children provides district-level leadership, supervision, and administrative oversight for the implementation of programs and related services for students with disabilities. This position ensures compliance with local, state, and federal requirements while promoting high-quality instructional programming, appropriate supports, and equitable access to services for students ages 2 through 21. Job Description Summary: Within the Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools' Office of School Options and Innovation, the Department of Career and Technical Education (CTE) provides project-based, career-focused learning to accelerate students along the path to success in college and careers. Learning is both classroom and work based with all high school programs of study articulating to industry credentials, 2 year degrees and/or 4 year degrees.
