Job Description PRIMARY FUNCTION : The Assistant Police Chief is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the Department. This position serves as second in command within the department and acts as Chief of Police in his/her absence or direction. Additionally, this is a sworn position that may require the performance of basic patrol officer functions.
