Job Description POSITION PURPOSE: Provides the necessary professional skills to assist students, parents, teachers and communities in problem solving and conflict resolution in a safe and healthy manner. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Consults with school staff members and parents to identify at-risk students; conducts surveys to assess school and/or community needs. Develops short- and long-term intervention strategies consistent with curriculum, student need, strengths, diversity and life experience to maximize educational opportunities and abilities. Implements school-wide programs and promotes parental responsibility for attendance improvement. Facilitates development of dropout prevention programs. Assists families with the interpretation of school policies and procedures. Collaborates with support personnel within the school, district and community.
