Job Description District Mentor Teacher Position Type: Certified - Part Time POSITION PURPOSE: Part-time District Mentors support beginning teachers and assist them in developing strategies for classroom management, implementing instructional strategies, and using targeted assessment. District Mentors also support Induction teachers all aspects of their professional development by providing formal written feedback on areas of reinforcement and areas of refinement based on the SCTS 4.0 Rubric. Training will be provided for Part-time District Mentors on assignment, throughout the year, as they offer assistance and support for Induction teachers. Establish clear objectives for all lessons, units, and projects, and communicate those objectives to students. Prepare, administer and evaluate tests and classroom assignments following curriculum guidelines. Guide and counsel students with adjustment and/or academic difficulties, or special academic interests. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Teaches courses in music appreciation, harmony, explorations in music, and in instrumental music and/or choral music.
