Job Description POSITION PURPOSE: The LEAP Mentor, as part of the Teacher Support Team for Beaufort County's own alternative route to teacher certification program, will develop teacher candidates into certified teachers by providing comprehensive guidance and assistance throughout the program and certification process. Job Description District Mentor Teacher Position Type: Certified - Part Time POSITION PURPOSE: Part-time District Mentors support beginning teachers and assist them in developing strategies for classroom management, implementing instructional strategies, and using targeted assessment. District Mentors also support Induction teachers all aspects of their professional development by providing formal written feedback on areas of reinforcement and areas of refinement based on the SCTS 4.0 Rubric. Training will be provided for Part-time District Mentors on assignment, throughout the year, as they offer assistance and support for Induction teachers.
