Perform mechanical repairs to ensure proper performance and safety of district vehicles. Essential Functions / Key Responsibilities 1. Applies good working knowledge while using diagnostic equipment to evaluate moderate to complex mechanical problems in vehicles. 2. Under general supervision, services vehicles according to established preventive maintenance schedule. Rotates and balances tires; changes oil and filters; lubricates vehicle parts; inspects and replaces hoses, belts, mirrors, lamps; and maintain all fluid levels. 3. Inspects vehicles and evaluates condition of systems, equipment, accessories, and lights using good working knowledge; services as needed. 4. Maintains accurate records of time and materials required to perform repairs and service. 5. Makes emergency calls as assigned by supervisors when vehicles have problems in the field. 6.
