Job Description POSITION PURPOSE: To create and maintain a positive, stimulating environment for students to promote a culture of learning. Establish clear objectives for all lessons, units, and projects, and communicate those objectives to students. Prepare, administer and evaluate tests and classroom assignments following curriculum guidelines. Guide and counsel students with adjustment and/or academic difficulties, or special academic interests. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Assist the district in making appropriate referrals for vision services through observations, review of records and reports. Review ophthalmologic reports and interpret as they relate to district, state, and federal eligibility requirements. Perform Functional Vision, Learning Media, and Expanded Core Curriculum assessments on new referrals, three year re-evaluations, and students whose eye conditions have changed significantly.
